Privacy Policy
Edinburgh Eats is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled. Last updated: June 2026.
Edinburgh Eats does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal details to use the app.
Specifically, we do not collect: your name, email address, location data, device identifiers, or any usage analytics.
Your saved restaurants and visit history are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
To delete all locally stored data, simply uninstall the app from your device.
When you request a restaurant recommendation, the app sends your selected preferences (who you are dining with, your mood, and your chosen neighbourhood) to our API server to generate a suggestion. No personal identifying information is included in this request.
These preference selections are not stored or logged on our servers.
Edinburgh Eats uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate restaurant recommendations. Only your anonymous meal preferences are sent to this service — no personal data.
Edinburgh Eats does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
